BAA Girls’ Soccer

The Walkerton District Community School Riverhawks beat their crosstown rivals, Sacred Heart Crusaders, 1 – 0 to win the 2019 BAA soccer championship. In A CWOSSA play-in action, the Riverhawks defeated PSDS in the semi-final and KDSS in the final, before meeting SHHS in the BAA championship game. Next up, St Mary’s will travel to Delhi for the A CWOSSA tournament.

BAA Boys’ Soccer

The St. Mary’s Mustang Boys’ soccer team won their third consecutive BAA Championship on Thursday, May 23 with a 7-1 win over  Walkerton District River Hawks. This was their 10th win of the season and capped a third straight undefeated campaign in BAA play. In AA CWOSSA play-in action, the Mustangs defeated JDSS 3-1 in the semi-final and Sacred Heart 4-1in the final, before meeting WDCS in the BAA championship…

The Saugeen District Royals beat the Owen Sound District Wolves  21 – 0 to win the 2019 BAA plaque.   Both SDSS and OSDSS move on to represent BAA at the A/AA and AAA CWOSSA tournaments.

BAA Girls’ Rugby

Owen Sound District Secondary School repeated as BAA girls’ rugby champions for 2019.   The Wolves were dominant all season, going undefeated in league play with an impressive +143 points over only three games. At the BAA tournament OSDSS beat Sacred Heart in the semi-finals and then Grey Highlands in the championship game with only giving up one try. SHHS Boys’ Hockey – BAA/CWOSSA/OFSAA Champions

The 2018/19 boys’ hockey season will be one to be remembered for Sacred Heart High School.   The Crusaders went 10-0 in BAA league/playoffs,  followed that by going 5 – 0 at CWOSSA, and topped it off by going 6 – 0 at A/AA OFSSA.     Six of SHHS games at CWOSSA and OFSAA were won by a single goal; including the OFSAA gold medal, which was won in a shootout. …

BAA Curling

Both SDSS boys and GHSS girls are repeat BAA curling champions. On the boys side, SDSS beat SMHS 6-2 in the semi-final, and then cruised to a 10-2 win over GBCS in the final.  SDSS advances with SMHS (who won the B Final 7-6 over GBCS) to the CWOSSA tournament at the Port Elgin Curling Club,  hosted by SDSS on February 27-28. OSDSS Girls Volleyball Classic

The OSDSS Wolves hosted their annual Girls Volleyball Classic on Saturday, January 12th.   This was the largest year for the tournament with 10 junior and 11 senior teams competing.   Games were played at OSDSS and Eastridge Community School. In senior,  the hosts had a good tournament,  losing in the semi-finals to eventual champions Goderich in three sets.   JDSS also made the semi-finals but lost to FE Madill in three sets. …
